Man who died in Monivea motorcycle crash named locally

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The man who died in a road traffic incident near Monivea yesterday (26/2) has been named locally as Attila Stercz, also known as Stuka.

Mr Sterlz was originally from Hungary and had been living in the Monivea area for some time.
Gardaí are investigating the crash which occurred on the Monivea to Athenry road at Glennaslac around 3 o' clock yesterday afternoon.

Hungarian native Attila Sterlz, who was aged in his forties, was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle in a flood.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to University Hospital Galway.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been travelling on the Monivea Road about 3 miles from Monivea yesterday afternoon to contact them at Galway garda station at 091 53 8000.
