Galway Bay fm newsroom - Major roadworks are to begin this week on the Furbo to Spiddal road.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the R336 for the duration of the works, which are expected to take around six weeks.
Contractors are installing a 750 millimetre storm water pipe under the road.
The lane closure and temporary traffic light system will be put in place this Thursday.
