Galway Bay fm newsroom - A major Arts Festival street spectacle has being delayed due to a weather warning.
The People's Build will see a massive model of Galway Cathedral constructed out of cardboard on Eyre Square.
The build was due to take place today from 11am, but has now been postponed for 24 hours.
It follows a yellow rain warning for Galway today that's in effect until 3 tomorrow morning.
The People's Build has been a part of the Galway International Arts Festival for the last number of years, with cardboard bridges crossing the Corrib River and cathedrals filling Eyre Square.
Speaking on Galway Talks, GIAF Artistic Director Paul Fahy says dry and calm conditions are needed to ensure the structure goes up properly.
