Galway Bay fm newsroom - The M17 motorway between Tuam and the junction with the M6 is closed in both directions this morning due to several collisions.
The county is feeling the effects of Storm Georgina which is moving towards Scotland, but two yellow weather warnings remain in place.
There have been several collisions and overturned cars on the M17 motorway on both sides between the exit for Roscommon and the exit for the M6.
The M17 motorway is now closed between Tuam and Rathmorrisey - Junction 18 and gardaí are advising motorists to slow down on all routes as showers of hail and rain have caused chaos.

There was also a crash on the M18 Galway to Limerick motorway southbound between Oranmore and Ardrahan.
