Galway Bay fm newsroom - There are difficult driving conditions this morning, as the country feels the effects of Storm Georgina and the M17 motorway between Tuam and the junction with the M6 has been closed.
The storm is moving towards Scotland, but two yellow weather warnings remain in place.
Heavy rain is expected in the West and North West, while winds could reach up to 110 kilometres per hour across the country.
There are reports of several collisions and overturned cars on the M17 motorway on both sides between the exit for Roscommon and the exit for the M6.
The M17 motorway is now closed in both directions between Tuam and Rathmorrisey - Junction 18
There is also a crash on the M18 Galway to Limerick motorway southbound between Oranmore and Ardrahan.
