Loughrea town residents plea for traffic calming on 'dangerous' narrow street

Over 200 people have signed a petition calling for traffic calming measures to be implemented on Abbey Street in Loughrea.

The narrow street is a busy route in the town, as it leads down past the Carmelite Abbey and to the motorway.

Local residents are raising concerns over the high speeds motorists are travelling down the street.

Independent Ireland councillor for the area, Declan Kelly, spoke to Sarah Slevin about the main concerns people have:
