Over 200 people have signed a petition calling for traffic calming measures to be implemented on Abbey Street in Loughrea.
The narrow street is a busy route in the town, as it leads down past the Carmelite Abbey and to the motorway.
Local residents are raising concerns over the high speeds motorists are travelling down the street.
