Galway Bay fm newsroom - The long-awaited water supply scheme for Kilrickle is now one step away from going to tender.

In 2018, the Cappataggle group water scheme agreed to provide a water supply to Kilrickle, which has been without a public supply for over 30 years.
Around 200 connections are needed in the East Galway village where locals have long relied on wells or rainwater tanks.

A design has now been prepared, costings have been calculated and the project has been submitted to the Department for approval.
Minister of State and Galway East TD Sean Canney has received confirmation from the Department of Housing that the costings will be presented to Minister Eoin Murphy in the coming week for approval....
