Locals object to planned housing development in Rahoon

Galway Bay fm newsroom - There is opposition to a large housing development planned for the Rahoon area of the city.

McHugh Property Holdings was granted planning permission for 68 homes at Gaelcarraig, Letteragh.

However that decision has been appealed to An Bord Pleanála.

The development would be in two schemes with road access on to Gaelcarraig Park and Carn Ard in Rahoon.

Some local residents have lodged an appeal to the higher planning authority.

They claim the design and scale of the development would be out of scale with the existing houses at Gaelcarraig Park.
