Local TDs urge Government to take stronger stance on Israeli actions in Palestine

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway TDs Sean Canney and Catherine Connolly have urged the Government to take a stronger stance on the actions of Israel in Palestine.

It’s after a new bill has been introduced in the Dáil, which would ban the State’s sovereign development fund from investing in companies based in illegal Israeli settlements.

Backing the bill, both TDs said the bill is a small step but it sends a clear and important message to the world that Ireland doesn’t tolerate the situation.

Deputy Canney said we’re willing to talk about atrocities in Ukraine, but there’s no appetite for discussion on what’s happening in Palestine.
