Galway Bay fm newsroom - Roscommon Galway TD Michael Fitzmaurice has suggested the post office network could serve as a ‘one stop shop’ for form applications.
The rural Independent TD argues the elderly in particular encounter huge challenges in trying to access services.
He made the comments while speaking in the Dáil on a motion calling for the current National Driver Licence Service to restore walk-in services.
Deputy Fitzmaurice warned the current procedure in place for renewing a licence was especially unfriendly to a generation of people who never had the opportunity to learn how to use a computer or access online services.
