Local TD says office inundated with requests for help since lifting of eviction ban

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway West TD Mairead Farrell says her office has been inundated by people seeking help since the lifting of the eviction ban.

The ban, lifted several weeks ago, was strongly opposed by opposition TDs and housing charities who continue to call for it to be reinstated.

But Government have argued keeping the ban in place would only have made the problem worse in the longer term.

Speaking to Sally-Ann Barrett, Deputy Farrell says people are experiencing untold levels of stress due to the uncertainty of what lies ahead.
