Local TD criticises recent CLAR funding for Galway projects

A local TD is criticising the Government's allocation of CLÁR funding for Galway and claims there should have been more provided for the county.

Galway Roscommon T.D Michael Fitzmaurice says the funding falls short of the amounts awarded in the region last year.

This week, Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael Ring revealed 3.8 million euro for 104 CLÁR applications.

This includes a quarter of a million euro for six Galway schools and community development projects.

Deputy Fitzmaurice says funding is being held for projects in rural areas.
