Galway Bay fm newsroom - A local TD says he would be willing to sit down with the Green Party to discuss turf - as sitting down with your enemy is how problems are solved.

Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice was speaking to Galway Talks about the controversial proposed ban on the sale and distribution of turf.
He clashed with Green Party councillor Alistair McKinstry on the issue, as well as on the studies conducted that inform Green Party policy.

Deputy Fitzmaurice says at the end of the day, it's all well and good talking about theories but we must deal with the reality of the situation.
And Councillor McKinstry agreed that common ground can always be found - but said they are not looking to target the elderly or individuals.
