Local MEP Ciaran Mullooly is demanding clarity from the Taoiseach on the Nature Restoration Law after what he calls a "shocking revelation" in the EU Parliament.
The controversial law aims to restore at least 20 percent of the EU's land and sea areas by 2030 - and repair all damaged ecosystems by 2050.
But Independent Ireland MEP Mullooly claims it's now emerged that there's no dedicated EU budget to support its implementation.
He says this flies in the face of what was previously said to Irish farmers by the Agriculture Minister.
And MEP Mullooly is demanding immediate clarity from the Taoiseach.
