Galway Bay fm newsroom - Local Senator Pauline O'Reilly has pledged support for Green Party leader Éamon Ryan.
It comes as a number of Green Party members have called on the party's Deputy Leader Catherine Martin to run against him in the upcoming leadership election.
Deputy Martin has said she will give 'serious consideration' to the idea but remains fully focused on government formation talks.
But Galway's Green Party Senator Pauline O'Reilly wants Eamon Ryan to stay on as leader.
She says he's brought the party back from the doldrums in recent years.
