From Galway Bay FM newsroom- Two local coach companies are fundraising to support hundreds of free flights to Ireland for refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine.
Go Bus and Galway Tour Company are working closely with the Ukrainian Crisis Centre in Ireland on "Flights for Freedom", which has raised €30 thousand to date.
The initiative, accredited by the Ukrainian Embassy, has already sourced 500 seats from Poland, with the first flights booked for May 1st.
They hope to scale the programme up to 200 seats per week in the very near future.
