LISTEN: Local senator calls for state investigation into pandemic impact on women's healthcare

A local senator has used the Seanad to call for a state investigation in the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on women's healthcare.

Senator Pauline O' Reilly was contributing to a debate on the CervicalCheck Tribunal Amendment Bill 2021, which aims to extend the tribunal.

She noted that 10 years on since Vicky Phelan received a misdiagnosis, we still have a long way to go before confidence is restored in the Irish state.

And Senator O' Reilly said we should also investigate how the ongoing pandemic has impacted on women's healthcare:
