Galway Bay fm newsroom - A licence application has been lodged with Galway City Council for an outdoor Christmas market in Galway.
The event was cancelled last year due to Covid 19 restrictions.
The application led by Milestone Inventive plans to hold the market from November 12th to December 22nd.
It is anticipated that the audience will exceed 250 thousand over the 40 days of the event but would not exceed 1,500 at any point in time.
It would consist of a mix of international and local vendors offering a range of food and crafts, onsite entertainment and the Bier Keller.
The big wheel is set to return under the proposal, as are the mulled wine units and Santa's train.
The event would be held at Kennedy Park, incorporating the plaza, Eyre Square North, Eyre Square West and its environs.
The proposal, including a draft plan for the management of the event, may be inspected online or by a scheduled appointment at the Planning Office at City Hall.
