A letter, signed by local councillors, pleading for backing for the development of a major sports facility in Loughrea is being given to Local Government Minister Alan Dillon.
The Loughrea Sports and Community Development Group is seeking to develop a multi-use, multi-sport and recreation facility.
However, plans have been rejected due to zoning issues with the land proposed between the Bullaun and Kinculla roads.
Hundreds of people turned out at a recent protest in the town over their struggles to get new sports facilities.
