Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway Senator has told Leinster House that issues surrounding gender equality at NUI Galway are far from sorted and may in fact be deteriorating.
Senator Trevor O' Clochartaigh says despite frequent talk of change and initiatives to address the situation, underlying issues at the university have still not been addressed.
He told the Seanad that talks between senior management and unions in relation to issues including grading, promotion, pay and conditions have made very little progress.
The Sinn Fein Senator informed the chamber that there is serious concern over the lack of substantive action from NUI Galway.
