Knocknacarra's Tracy Boland is overall winner of Galway City Spaces for Biodiversity Competition

Tracey Boland from Knockncarra is the overall winner of the new look Tidy Towns Garden Competition now known as the Galway City Spaces for Biodiversity Competition.

In the residential spaces, Tracy Boland in Knockncarra has won first place, Mary Delany in Ballybane, Tina McHugh in Bushy Park/Dangan/Circular Road, Sean Hynes on Headford Road, Alan Sixsmith in Rahoon, Eileen Corcoran in Renmore, Mary Hodkinson in Salthill, Gabriel Kelly in Shantalla, William F. Hurley in Taylor's Hill and Margaret Gouyet in Corrib Park/Newcastle.

Mary Boyle from Crestwood has won overall 'Best Window Boxes and Floral Display'.

The Woodlands Residents Association was awarded 'Best Residential Area' in the under 50 houses category while Monivea Park took home 'Best Residential Area' in the 50 to 200 houses category.

The winners will be presented with their prizes at a ceremony next month
