Galway Bay fm newsroom - The county council has refused an application for more time for a development at the JFC Manufacturing facility at Weir Road in Tuam.
The company applied for an extension of planning permission for the expansion of the existing facility and provision of a European distribution depot.
However planners have refused the application as it doesn't comply with time limits.
JFC had applied for permission for the European distribution depot, including 170 car parking spaces, offices and site works at Killaloonty, Tuam.
The company also submitted an application looking for more time to upgrade the entrance / exit to Tuam Business Park.
However, county planners have refused both applications.
In respect of both applications, county planners state that they don't meet the time limits for extensions of time.
This is because planning permission doesn't run out until June 2018 and an extension of duration can only be sought within a 12 month period prior to the end of the planning permission.
