Galway Bay fm newsroom - Irish rail says it hopes train drivers will be able to return to work in the coming days as a strike by Bus Eireann drivers has affected rail services too.
Many people hoping to travel by train in Galway today (24/3) have been left confused and stranded by a lack of services.
Bus Eireann drivers are engaging in an all-out strike, over the threat of pay cuts which bosses claim they have no option but to enforce.
No Bus Eireann buses are running except for school services.
Rail services have also been affected as rail workers won't cross the picket lines manned by about 35 Bus Eireann drivers at Ceannt station in the city.
