Galway Bay fm newsroom - A HIQA inspection has identified several issues at Ballinderry Nursing home in Kilconnell.

On the day of inspection, feedback from residents was positive - with one describing staff as "the best there ever was".
Inspectors said it was evident that staff knew the residents well and had good knowledge of their likes and dislikes.

But some issues were noted - including shortage of nursing staff and a management system inadequate to ensure a safe, consistent service.
The centre was also deemed non-compliant with fire precaution regulations, as well as regulations on individual assessment and care plans.
