HSE urged to review opening hours of Tuam Primary Care Centre

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The HSE is being urged to review the opening hours of Tuam's Primary Care Centre.

The centre closes at Saturday lunchtime and does not open on Sundays.

Tuam Primary Care Centre opened for services at the end of 2017 and is part of a 14-project Public Private Partnership programme to provide Primary Care Centres around Ireland.

Galway East TD and Minister for Rural Affairs Seán Canney argues their operation should be patient-led.

He says patients cannot be expected to time their medical needs to suit the facilities management of the centre.
