Galway Bay fm newsroom - A city councillor has contacted the HSE with a proposal to change the location of the Covid-19 walk-in test centre from its current NUIG base to the city centre.
Councillor Mike Crowe argues the NUIG walk-in centre is now less utilised given the drop in student numbers in the area as the academic year comes to an end.
He says a walk-in facility would be better placed in the city centre over the coming months where there will be more footfall and greater uptake for testing.
The Fianna Fail councillor told Keith Finnegan on Galway Talks there are a number of vacant commercial units near Eyre Square and Forster Street that may possibly be suitable.
