HSE to press ahead with planned recruitment of Parkinson's nurse at UHG

From Galway Bay FM newsroom- The HSE has confirmed plans to recruit a Parkinson's advanced nurse for UHG.

Roscommon/Galway TD Denis Naughten has been informed that the job specification for the full-time post is now being finalised.

The Parkinson's nurse helps patients manage their illness through making changes to their prescription, improving their quality of life and reducing the need to travel for hospital.

Deputy Naughten says he hopes a second post may be filled in the future.
