House prices in the county jump by almost 10 per cent

Galway Bay fm newsroom - House prices in the county increased by almost 10 per cent in the final three months of 2017.

That's according to the latest report from property website, daft.ie, which shows the average house price in the county is now 184 thousand euro.

This is an increase of about 46 per cent on prices at their lowest point.

In the city, house prices increased by 8 per cent between October and December, compared to an increase of 13 per cent for the final three months of 2016.

The average house price in the city is now 273 thousand euro.

We're being warned that the number of properties available to buy on the market, is continuing to fall, right around the country.

The daft.ie report shows there were just over 21,000 properties on the market on December 1st.

That's 2-point-6 per cent lower than the same date the previous year.
