Hope for surge in business in Athenry as free parking trial now underway

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A free parking trial is underway in Athenry and will continue until the end of November.

The three month trial is taking place in the Backlawn carpark which located close to Kenny Park in the town.

It's hope the availability of free parking close to the town centre will increase footfall for local businesses and reduce on street parking.

Minister of State and Galway East TD Ciaran Cannon says the carpark will benefit businesses and visitors alike.
