Galway Bay fm newsroom - Campaigners are to meet with senior officials at City Hall in September to discuss how to move forward with a proposed greenway in Barna.
The Galway Urban Greenway Alliance says the greenway - which has been stalled since 2016 - could link up with the planned Connemara Greenway.
It says the route would then run from Barna into the city, turning towards Dangan and onto Moycullen - creating a 'world class' walking and cycling route.
The campaign group believes the planned amenity would be a major tourist draw, have a positive impact on traffic flow and allow children to travel safely to schools.
They'll meet with senior officials at City Hall in early September to discuss the status of the Greenway and see if a way forward can be found.
