Galway Bay fm newsroom - HID Global has confirmed that it will be maintaining a presence in Tully in Connemara until the end of 2022.
It was announced early in 2019 that the US multi-national would be transferring its Gaeltacht employees to Galway City, where a European Centre of Excellence is being developed.
However, due to delays associated with Covid-19, the firm has now given a commitment to Udaras na Gaeltachta that it will remain in Tully until the end of 2022.
Last week, HID Global confirmed that the new Galway centre is on track to open this year, and will create 120 new jobs over the next two years.
HID Global specializes in secure identity technology and manufactures a wide range of physical products and security software.
The firm established its first presence in Ireland at Tully in Connemara in 2006 and later opened a fulfillment centre in Shannon.
