Health officials issue 'stay at home' appeal to workers across the West

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The HSE West has issued an appeal calling on the public to work from home as the virus continues to spread in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.

The group has warned that there continues to be a very high level of infection in our communities.

The 14 day incidence rate in Galway stands at 1095 per 100,000, 1635 in Mayo and 925 in Roscommon.

Dr. Breda Smyth, Director of Public Health at HSE West, is urging workers across the region to work from home if possible.

She has also stressed that over the next two weeks hospitals and medical services will be under significant pressure.

She says the public can assist frontline workers by halting the spread of the virus in our communities.
