Galway Bay fm newsroom - A spinal consultant who formerly worked at UHG and Merlin Park Hospitals has not engaged with the hospital or the process following an internal clinical audit.
Concerns arose over procedures carried out by the consultant during his term at GUH between January 2013 and November 2014.
The Regional Health Forum West heard that the consultant is overseas and the matter is being pursued by the Medical Council.
Chief Operating Officer Ann Cosgrove said officials have met with patients and families.

The output of a clinical review for some patients is expected to be issued in the coming weeks.
