Galway Bay fm newsroom:
Galway Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says it's struggling to manage within its existing resources.
Last week the charity took in a litter of kittens which were discovered in a skip by Walsh Waste staff who were collected the skip.
The kittens were only about two weeks old and the GSPCA says it looks like they were dumped in the skip, as they were covered in grit and dirt which meant feeding was a challenge.
The charity says the baby kittens are now much more alert and stable following antibiotics and feeding and have been placed with a foster carer.
Yesterday, the GSPCA says another three kittens were brought into its city charity shop after being found on a street.
