Galway Bay fm newsroom - A special event will take place in the city tomorrow to mark the 50th anniversary of the Galway Roscommon Education and Training Board.
The GRETB was first established as AnCo in 1969 to provide apprenticeships and work skills for people across the west.
In 2014, FAS and the Vocational Education Committees amalgamated to create the GRETB, headquartered at Mervue in the city.
It'll mark it's 50th year in operation at the Mervue facility with a special ceremony tomorrow from 11am.
Those in attendance will include Gaeltacht Minister Sean Kyne, Junior Minister Sean Canney, Mayor of Galway Mike Cubbard and Acting President of GMIT, Dr. Michael Hannon.
