Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Marine Minister is being urged to prioritise funding for a long awaited deep water berth at Rossaveal harbour in Connemara.
It comes as Minister Michael Creed has approved funding of 800 thousand euro for Ros an Mhíl, out of a total budget of more than 20 million euro.
Galway West TD Eamon O'Cuiv says this funding round will go towards the completion of a leisure craft facility.
Deputy O'Cuiv says while this is welcome, funding is long overdue for a deep water berth as the harbour is not capable of handling large fishing boats.
The Fianna Fail deputy says it's time to develop Rossaveal as a major fishing harbour.
