Government Chief Whip and Galway West TD Hildegarde Naughton has been giving evidence at Galway Court in an online threats case
The Fine Gael TD told the court she was "frightened" for her personal safety and had to reassess her movements after she was allegedly subjected to threats online.
The case is against 47-year-old Daragh O'Flaherty with an address at New Estate, Clarinbridge.
He denies committing offences, contrary to Section 4 of the Harassment, Harmful Communications and related offences Act, 2020.
It's alleged that on 9 and 10 January of this year, he distributed or published a threatening or grossly offensive communication about Deputy Naughton, with intent to cause harm.
He faces similar charges in relation to alleged communications about Galway based Fine Gael Senator, Sean Kyne.
The case has been adjourned for mention to November 4th.
