Galway Bay fm newsroom - GMIT and the City Council are joining forces in a bid to develop a strategy to ensure sustainable use of Galway's economic, social and cultural assets.
The college and the local authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the matter.
It aims to enhance opportunities for the people of the region by helping to develop Galway as a desirable place to live, work and visit.
