Galway Bay fm newsroom - Gardai are liaising with Interpol and police authorities in Sudan as part of their investigation into the discovery of three stowaways in a truck at the Big Top festival arena.
The Garda National Immigration Bureau was notified after the three men were discovered in the body of a heavy goods vehicle shortly after 4pm yesterday.
Gardaí at Mill Street attended Fisheries Field yesterday where it is was reported that a number of men were concealed in the body of a truck.
A search was conducted and three non-Irish males, believed to be from Sudan were discovered.
The three men were detained under Section 130 of the Immigration Act and taken to Galway Garda Station.
The Garda National Immigration Bureau has been notified and the individuals are being processed.
All three men have been medically assessed and are understood to be in good health.
