Galway Bay fm newsroom - Gardai are set to carry out a technical examination this morning after a fire at a former hotel in Oughterard.
The blaze at the former Corrib Hotel in the town broke out shortly after midnight.
At around a quarter past midnight, a blaze broke out on the second floor of the three story building formerly known as the Corrib Hotel.
Located on Main Street, the building has been vacant for a number of years.
Three units of the fire service attended the scene and brought the fire under control after some 90 minutes.
Gardai are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire; a technical examination is due to be carried out this morning.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
