Gardai appeal for witnesses to Eyre Square assault

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an assault in the city centre last week. (10/5)

A group of young people were involved in an altercation on the street at 2.40a.m last Friday.

A man in his early 20s was assaulted by a group of people and was taken to University Hospital Galway with minor injuries and was later released.

Gardaí are reviewing CCTV footage from the Eyre Square area and are following several lines of enquiry.

They're appealing to anyone who saw the assault in Eyre Square in the early hours of last Friday morning to contact Millstreet garda station at 091 53 8000
