Galway Bay fm newsroom - Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man was killed in a road crash near Claregalway.
The two-vehicle collision between a car and a jeep happened on the N63 at Rooaunmore at around 5 o' clock last evening.
The man - who was aged in his 70's - was taken to University Hospital Galway where he was pronounced dead.
Gardai say there were no other injuries sustained during the incident.
A section of the N63 at Rooaunmore was closed for a time to allow Gardai to conduct a technical examination, but the road has since re-opened.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses - and in particular are looking for motorists who may have been traveling the N63 and have dashcam footage.
