Galway Bay fm newsroom - Gardaí are appealing for information following a fire at a house in the Carna area in the early hours of yesterday.
The blaze caused serious damaged to the property located in the townland of Letterard, four miles from Carna village.
A man, who is believed to have been the sole occupant of the house at the time, was taken to University Hospital Galway where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Gardai say they are keeping an open mind as to the cause of the fire and investigations are continuing.
Anyone who noticed any suspicious behaviour in the area between Saturday night and 6am yesterday is asked to contact Clifden or Salthill Garda stations.
