Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway’s coast and rivers are to be assessed as the Irish Business Against Litter league extends the scope of its survey.
Areas to be examined will now include Salthill, Kinvara, the Corrib in Galway city, the Suck in Ballinasloe and the Shannon in Portumna.
Over 60 sites, covering coasts and inland waterways, will monitored independently by An Taisce, which will be ranked in a litter league table to be published in late summer.
The survey has been expanded in a bid to address growing marine litter issues.
