Galway Bay fm newsroom:
Two East Galway walking trail projects have received close to 300 thousand euro in government funding.
The allocation comes from the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme administered by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
The Loughrea Walks project is to receive 100 thousand euro in funding to support phase two redevelopment of the moat walks around the town.
While over 185 thousand euro has been ringfenced for the Lackagh/Knockdoe Walking Trail Project, that will see the development of a walking trail linking sports facilities in in Knockdoe to the village of Lackagh.
