Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway Technology Centre has secured the go-ahead for a major expansion of its office space at Mervue Business Park.
The plan will see additional office accommodation and meeting rooms with a proposed 4- storey building connecting the extension to the existing building.
The expansion at Galway Technology Centre will also include changes to the internal layout of the existing offices including increasing the floor area by filling in an existing void at reception area.
City planners have attached 8 conditions to the grant of planning permisison.
One condition states that before work begins, a contribution of almost 60 thousand euro must be paid to the city council towards the provision of public services.
Meanwhile, the IDA has been given the green light to proceed with access road upgrade and internal site works at the Business & Technology Park.
This includes the upgrading of the internal priority junction to a mini roundabout junction and the upgrading of an existing pedestrian site access.
It also provides for 33 new car parks spaces, a set down area, footpath and bicycle stands.
City planners have attached nine conditions.
One states the revised junction is to be designed to cater for a future bus corridor along the Monivea Road.
