Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway TD has expressed concerns about the effect that living in emergency accommodation is having on families.
Galway East TD and Fianna Fail Spokesperson on Children, Anne Rabbitte, raised the concerns following the publication of a new cross-party report on homelessness.
The report states that families should not spend more than six months in emergency accommodation
The Family and Child Homelessness study warns of the danger of children becoming institutionalised if they stay too long in a hotel or hub.
It also recommends the practice of forcing people to leave temporary accommodation during the day, should be ended.
