Galway TD slams 'unacceptable' numbers of children waiting for hospital appointments

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway TD says it's completely unacceptable that 58,000 children are waiting for outpatient appointments at hospitals across the country.

The latest figures from the National Treatment Purchase Fund show nearly 20,000 are waiting over a year to see a consultant, while 12,000 are waiting over 18 months.

Fianna Fáil spokesperson for Children and Galway East TD Anne Rabbitte says it's totally unacceptable.

Deputy Rabbitte says the waiting lists do not seem to be generating any sense of urgency from Health Minister Simon Harris.
