Galway TD says wage scheme discriminates against women returning from maternity leave

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway East TD Anne Rabbitte has branded the new wage support scheme introducted in response to the Covid-19 pandemic as discriminatory.

The Fianna Fáil TD says women who are returning from maternity leave cannot sign up to the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme which is operated by Revenue.

She explains it's only open to employees who were on the payroll in January and February - which excludes those who were on maternity leave.

Deputy Rabbitte says women are being left behind again.
