Galway TD questions low number of Rural Social Scheme places in Connemara

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The number of spaces available on the Rural Social Scheme in Connemara is just a fraction of what's needed.

That's according to Deputy Eamon O' Cuiv, who says Galway has the third highest number of farmers in receipt of Farm Assist nationwide at 659.

However, he's pointing out that there are just 36 spaces on the RSS in the whole of the non-Gaeltacht part of Connemara, which has a large number of farmers.

The Galway West Fianna Fail TD argues additional places must be made available to community development company FORUM Connemara.
